"Four Seasons" Wrapping Paper Set 475 x 680 mm
Celebrate your big day in Japanese style!
- a set of wrapping papers adorned with reproductions of my acrylic paintings featuring motifs typical for the seasons in Japan
- the set contains 4 pieces of wrapping paper - one of each motif
Spring:
- purple wrapping paper with sakura, magnolia, and a bird
- in Japan, Hanami, the cherry blossom festivals, are celebrated every summer
- the magnolia in Japan is associated with the emperor. It was a great honor if the ruler gifted someone a magnolia bush
- birds on various trees or bushes are a very popular motif in Japanese painting
Summer:
- blue wrapping paper with Koi carp and a moon reflection on the water surface
- Koi carp bring good luck, they are a symbol of love and friendship
- on the paper, you will also find 8 constellations that are visible in the night sky in Japan
- two carp are symbols of yin and yang - symbolizing harmony and balance
Autumn:
- red wrapping paper with motifs of an autumn park in Japan
- maple trees symbolize the transience of life; their leaves change color from yellow through orange to red
- ginkgo trees are sacred and were often planted near Shinto shrines
- the spider lily in Japanese mythology "guides the dead" and is a reminder of transience
- the chrysanthemum in Japan is a symbol of the emperor and the imperial family
Winter:
- green paper with the traditional East Asian motif of the Three Friends of Winter
- these plants are appreciated in Japanese culture for their resilience to cold and symbolize perseverance, determination, and indomitability
- this motif is also associated with New Year celebrations
- bamboo remains green all year round. It does not break under the onslaught of wind, and therefore it is worthy of admiration
- the pine tree and its resilience, with which it can survive on rocks, is an encouragement to man in difficult times
- the plum tree blossoms already at the end of winter, often still under snow. The five petals in its flower symbolize five kinds of happiness

About the wrapping paper:
- the paper measures 475 x 680 mm (slightly larger than A2 format), paper grammage is 130 g/m2
- the paper has a luxurious glossy finish
- colors are clear, but not garishly bright
- the paper arrives folded into quarters (slightly larger than A4 format) in a standard postal box or envelope
- don't want the paper folded? Add a note to your order. I will roll up the paper and pack it in a long, narrow paper box, which, however, cannot simultaneously fit things like a mug or anything larger and heavier
