• I painted the Three Friends of Winter on the fan
• the Three Friends of Winter is a popular East Asian motif representing three plants – bamboo, pine, and plum
• in Japan, it is associated with New Year celebrations
• these plants are valued in Japanese culture for their resistance to cold and symbolize perseverance, determination, and resilience

About folding "sensu" fans:

• the unfolded fan is approximately 25 cm wide, stored in its case it measures approximately 23 x 4 cm
• the fan has a sturdy, decoratively carved bamboo structure covered with fabric
• I hand-painted the motif on the fan using fabric paints
  
• the fan is compact, you can easily carry it in your handbag and have it at hand anytime
• because the fan is made of fabric, not paper, it folds and unfolds easily, and you don't have to worry about it getting creased with handling
• the fan handle is decorated with colorful beads attached to a carabiner, so you can easily remove them
• the package also includes a hand-painted fabric case
