• In Japan, the magnolia is associated with the emperor. It was a great honor if the ruler gifted someone a magnolia bush.
• In Japan, it is believed that its scent induces romantic dreams and love.

About round "uchiwa" fans:

• the fan is approx. 24 cm wide and 38 cm long (including the handle)
• the fan has a sturdy bamboo frame covered on both sides with paper
• I hand-painted the motif on the fan with acrylic paints and ink.
  
• it is a traditional Japanese fan called "uchiwa".

About fan painting:

• I hand-paint on fans, so each product is original.
• the resulting image may differ slightly from the photograph.
• I paint with acrylic paints and ink.
• I have fixed the colors with clear matte varnish for greater durability.
