Horse not only in 2026

2026 as the Year of the Fire Horse

According to the Chinese lunar calendar, 2026 will be the year of the Fire Horse. The Chinese zodiac cycles through twelve animals and five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water), meaning a specific combination only repeats once every 60 years! The last Year of the Fire Horse was in 1966.

What does the Horse symbolize in the zodiac?

In the Chinese zodiac, the Horse symbolizes freedom, energy and vitality, independence and courage, and a desire for movement and change.

People born under the sign of the Horse are often active, communicative, and socially adept. They frequently have a strong need to go their own way and dislike restrictions.

What is the Fire element like?

Fire is the strongest and most expressive element. It is associated with passion, creativity, impulsive actions, and the courage to take risks.

The combination of Horse and Fire creates very intense energy. A Fire Horse is fast, untamed, sometimes even explosive. This year can generally bring dynamic changes, strong emotions, and brave new beginnings.

What will children born this year be like?

People born in the Year of the Fire Horse are often charismatic and natural leaders. They are independent, creative, and full of ideas. They are brave but sometimes impatient. They are sensitive to injustice. They have strong inner energy and need space for self-expression.

An interesting fact to conclude

Historically, the Year of the Fire Horse had a special reputation in some parts of Asia. For example, in Japan, it is known as Hinoeuma and was traditionally considered a year when very strong and stubborn women were born. In 1966, there was even a significant decline in birth rates because some people believed that girls born in this year would have a "too strong" personality for marriage. Today, I hope this view is more of a cultural curiosity than a real concern :).

Me and horses

I absolutely loved horses during my childhood and adolescence. They were definitely the animal I drew the most often. Occasionally, I drew horses on commission, but I only found a few photos.
